    CDS dials

Ive never taken much notice of CDS dials before, I have a couple but have always left them "unclaimed" and been happy enough to dial MOA.

But I have this one on a clients rifle and need to ensure Im reading it correctly!

So Norma 143 gn Bondstrike at 2953 for a start.

    100M zero?? At 13 degrees??

Range in yards?? Clicks 1/4 MOA ??

If I dial it to 400 thats 22 clicks. But stelok says 23.6 (and thats not accounting for the actual ammo velocity being way off, but I can deal with that)

    Isn't the 100m referring to environmental parameters 100m altitude @ 13 degrees C ?

Can't help on the cds specific questions but mate had some factory norma bondstrike and it was not doing 2953 more like 2700 something.

If you want to laugh even more at PRC owners . The Factory Norma 6.5 Creedmoor Bondstrikes do 2650 in my 19 inch Kimber.

You are better off to dial in MOA

The CDs won’t be able to compensate for angle, air temp or air pressure

    Or an ammo change

Or the “ barrel” speeding up or slowing down

The routine and discipline of dialling in MOA will also provide the skill set to shoot extended distance with multiple rifles
    AMac and SPEARONZ like this.

Shamus has it right. Atmospherics are 100m altitude and 13 degrees celsius

Looks like 100m zero and the rest of the dial up distance is in yards

    Very confusing

Ditto. I'm about to order one for my bush pig. Only a 400y gun and inside that range, real world difference is negligible.
