    Cerakote NZ - New ownership

    Hi all,

I see Cerakote NZ is under new ownership, anyone used them since the change and if they are still doing good work on firearms? Seems to be with a panel beating/paint type outfit now so wondering how they are with rifles.

Looking to get a rifle and the assorted screws, mag well and trigger plate etc done. I don't want someone that isn't familiar with rifles anywhere near it though.

Any other recommendations? I'm Waikato based so Cerakote NZ in Tauranga is reasonable convenient.

Ended up going with Close Quarters Cerakote.
    Awesome service.
Cerakote NZ wanted me to disassemble and de-grease and sort everything my end and then said the success of the coating of the action is variable depending on how well I de-greased it around the barrel threads. I wasn't keen to send a rifle to them after that.

Blair from Close Quarters Cerakote sorted everything including bead blasting, solvent bath, and disassembled and assembled the rifle to ensure proper fit and function. Bolt even came back properly lubricated with a touch of grease on the sear and locking lugs. Hassle free sending via Rivers to Ranges in Hastings via dealer network and done basically within the week at a reasonable cost for the whole rifle. Did all the screws, even did the sling studs of the stock I sent with it (didn't send it in the wood stock).
Happy with the work and impressed with the Cerakote in the action as it's made the bolt even smoother.

Great to hear mate! Out of curiosity what was the damage to your wallet? Approx. is fine just wondering if it's option for some cheaper rifles.

$350 total including return shipping. I thought it was reasonable! Blair did say that was his cost for the older rifles so your mileage may vary.
