    CF Stock torque settings

Apologies if this has already been covered, I couldn’t find it. Anyone know the correct action screw torque settings for a
Remington Model 7 fitted with a CF stock. (In this instance, a Stug stock).

I just hand tightened them, slightly more on the front action screw compared to the rear action screw.

35 inch pounds for both, or 40 on the front and 35 rear will be a great start

Recheck them after firing for the first few outings as whatever bedding may settle

On the Model Seven I tighten the rear screw just a bit more than snug as it's a piddly little 8-36 size screw and especially the stainless ones are super easy to strip the heads on ...

Even though its obvious, it’s still worth pointing out, mine is stainless and a stripped head or thread would easily spoil an evening.

I googled it as well and ended up going 35 on the front and 18 on the back, from the way it felt, I don’t think the back screw could have gone any tighter.

You'll be fine with that - I've been running my wife's Model 7 at 35/20 for the last 33 years!!!!
