I started off with a SNDWAY 600 and I had no issues . Glass quality is ok and really for the money a very good package.

I ordered a cheap one from ebay years ago. It arrived and worked for a day or two, then just stopped returning a result. Seller wouldn't refund without a return which was going to cost $80 or so to ship. I pulled it open to see if there were any obviously damaged electronic components but couldn't find anything.

Ended up buying a used SIG BDX off here and have been very happy with that.

If your buying from trade me for that type of thing, make sure you pay via ping as then trade me will actually step in and refund you if the product is shit and the seller ghosts you. If your buying overseas, same thing applies but with PayPal. You can raise a dispute with PayPal and it's amazing how fast that can make a seller change their tune.

Also be aware most of the cheapies are not waterproof, fairly important in the land of the long white cloud.

I bought a Sndway 1000 just earlier this year, worked perfectly on all of the cruisy day hunts I'd done but it did really struggle on a recent tahr hunt. If there was any clagg at all it's measurements were all over the show. Really had to pick your moment to range an animal. Glass is alright and in good conditions the unit performs very well, it's Achilles heel is bad weather.

After looking at the cheap options I recently went with the bottom end vortex RF. Thought my chances of finding a puddle to drop something in was too high haha
