    Cheap Trail Cam

I've found a wee spot which generates high deer traffic but I always seem to be missing out on the timing side of things.

I'm after a trail cam that's good enough to work but cheap enough that if pinched I wont cry (its going in public bush) what suggestions do you lot have?

eBAY. I have 2 brands. 1 wild game- really good but have had moisture problems and the others are bone collector- very basic but good quality pic Just remember a cheap cam will give cheap results or will not last as long. I find less electronics the better ie its not essential that it has a viewing screen on the inside ( just more to go wrong) With cams i have found that placement is key (something i am still struggling with) depending on flash type correct placement will lower the risk of someone pinching it.
In the areas i have been worried about someone pinching them i have set 2 up. Hopefuly they will only find one and the second one will help me find them.

What ever happens make sure you post them on the forum so we can all enjoy

Some cheap ones work very well. I bought a stalker, 149 and its great. Good pics and great vids. On trademe go to the nelson site on Hunting etc and you see the cameras for 149 and they the same, work good.

Nearly 3 years and still going good, buying anotyher soon

I wouldn't touch a stalker, mine stuffed out after 6 months and when I sent them an email about it no reply. I just landed a ltl acorn 5310WA for 150 brand new off AliExpress. Twice the camera for the same price. Worth a look

Good clear pic's deer243, my brother-in law has had problems with the Moultrie cameras moisture getting in. As a matter of course we tape silicone bags inside the cameras to reduce moisture, seems to work had no more problems. We have the changing color crystals which change from yellow to green when moisture starts to build up.

Like all things, some fail, and not just the cheap ones either. Mines worked really well, vids are excellant. Each to their own what they want, but as i set mine in DOC, the threat of them being stolen is a factor.
149...two for 299...does one buy a 299 cam instead of two for the same price? Have to weight it up, other options out there as well but i be happy to buy two for that price. If one gets stolen not too big a deal, if one fails not too big a deal. as long as i get good use out of it for the price its a winner. 3 Years and mines still going well. Worth the money, without a doubt. Im sure they have a 12 month warranty. Most things if going to go wrong will in that time frame ive found. The acorn thou seems a good deal
