Thread: Chopping a Howa Mini

As above have no Experience with the exel stock but with the howa houge stocks
Most of them require forend Stiffing using epoxy and something to support
Arrow sharfts work well but if you don’t have those
Cheap ali tube from mitre 10 or bunnings would work a treat

This adds a little bit of weight but not overly so

As far as chopping the barrel I wouldn’t go much below 16”
(Personal opinion) you will still get good performance out of mini action caliber’s at that length
Any shorter and you loose more performance than it’s worth for the extra convenience of a shorter barrel everything is a trade off
Unless is a 300blk and you use mainly subsonic then it doesn’t really matter a 10” barrel would be heaps as you just load your ammo a bit hotter to Achieve the fastest velocity possible without going supersonic
