It's really a case of not wanting to replace more parts than I need to. If my rifle still had the carbine tube on it I would get a stock to suit. Since it doesn't, I won't. I'm not too worried about it being adjustable, and I actually really like the look of the Servo stock after looking at it a few times, kinda unique too. If rifle length is better for suppression then that's just icing on the cake.

I think it's important to recognise the work involved in bringing a new stock to the market. As far as I'm concerned spear mags have done an excellent job in providing kiwis an alternative at a great price point.

We approached spear mags late last year when the original discussions we had with broncos indicated they were not up to the volume that would be required for the nz market. Wyndham guns have the bronco stock mentioned in this thread. Our design brief first to broncos then to spear mags was an H&K USC style stock. Spear mags filled the design brief perfectly and at a significantly lower price. Spear mags then took on the huge investment to manufacture these stocks. It costs a small mortgage just to manufacture a single design for our market. Cost recovery doesn't occur until a shit load are sold.

Spear mags is a kiwi company with superb design skills and a growing product range that we will be helping ensure has a solid future.

I know this post is getting down the list a bit, but after my last post, thought i'd give a quick update.

After some shooting (no mirrors required), getting eye relief distance on the scope right, and basically getting comfortable with the Spear stock, I'm going to have to say I'm pretty happy. Feels a lot less alien now i've made a dent in my ammo stock. So yes, the Spear Stock will be staying put, and a second one will be ordered as soon as the clinking pacakge finally arrives from the states.

Thermo plastic is here, so I'm going to play with the heat gun one day this week and see if I can get a nice grip on it.

I was at the Auckland DS range today with the kids and my AR with Spear's stock, and there were another 2 or 3 spears stocks there on varying AR's... they are breeding!

I found it fine to shoot with, quite happy to be honest.

First attempt to get the Spear Stock more comfortable - much better contact with trigger rather than wrapping finger around it 3 times... sorry for photo, was dark and late!
