You can but spanners for them and you can use oil filter wrench but 8 would bother just leave it and use it. What ever you do don't clean it with solvent and then fire it. It will blow up.

How many rounds is that from? How often you slide to clean em?
Just took mine all apart and soaked it in hot water and simple green bro worked mint. No e was way more wrecked than that with probably only 40 or so rounds of wsm through it
Whats simple green ryan? Did you take the o rings off?
Simple green is an awesome cleaning product for heaps of stuff.
Should find it in the supermarket, auto store etc
Ima just try dishwashing liquid for now :D
Plant based cleaner, citrus from memory
I spray mine with WD40, once apart, then wipe off the excess with a paper towel
Soaking it in really hot water for 1/2 an hour seems a plan, should soften all the goo, incl in the threads, nicely
Let us know how you go.
Ive got slip 2000 that citris based carbon remover i use on the barrel on standby ;)
Carb clean might work too bro. Simple Green is amazing shit. As for undoing it, a couple of strap wrenches will work if you can get them. Trip to Repco! I also use lanocote on the threads so they don't lock up in the first place
Yea simple green is some magic shit that I found in the Mrs box of tricks (minds out of the gutter, the box under the sink) it's mint for cleaning brass too, just give anything a soak in hot water and simple green and it comes up good as new. Think it's pine based or something.
Tape the baffle sections to avoid scratching the finish and then use hose clamps to gain purchase with which to break them apart.
Simple green must be completely rinsed from aluminium as it is corrosive to alloy, I presume same precaution might apply to duralium?
They make a separate aircraft wash product for this reason.
DPT has a good PDF on maintaining their supressors, it's been posted here before but I can't find a link on their website.
Simple green in sonic cleaner works for me.
As mentioned it needs to be neutralised once done to protect the ally.
I just use a leather belt to loosen them if tight.

White lithium grease works on the threads. They actually work better with a little build up. They are modulated to add and remove baffles as you like and you can clean them but you don't need to. Gunworks and hardies are sealed and no one cleans them.

The dishwashing liquid did nothing. Hot water and some slip 2000 was mint, carbon wiped off. That baffle is stuck though. Its to the point il fuck it if i try any harder :D
freeze it then in to hot water, the thermal change should crack the carbon in the threads enough to start to get carbon remover in there.
mine have been stuck a few times:oh noes:
crc brake cleaner
DPT sell a pair of purpose made suppressor clamps for $90.00 (available on website). Much better than struggling with hose clamps!
You can borrow mine.
Oh, and the dishwasher can do wonders as well.
I soaked mine in hot water + dish liquid. Scrubbed with wire scrub thing. Worked well
I'm keen to hear how Rushy became a part of this conversation?
Bit naughty I know, but on my 22 with the 3 sliding chambers and spring when I would clean it out sometimes the chambers would be stuck. First couple would come out with gentle levering but the last one was a dog to get out and all aluminium so didn't really want to wail on it. I would.... aim it into something soft like the ground and fire a shot through it. always came out and only a 22 so not as bad as a centerfire.
Hi all,
Anything water based is not recommended, (water can increases the risk of corrosion) soak the parts in wd40 and give them a good scrub.
We also sell spanners if you are finding them hard to get appart.
Darren
Alright one more go tomorrow with wd :D
Just chuck it in the dishwasher bro, she'll be right
Who cleans your dishwasher Phillipo ? We've had enough of this kitchen talk - haven't we ? Ryan you asked for it ...
DPT also says not to tighten them up while hot. Would squeeze out the grease and also once cool the gaps would be smaller and seize. I use a lithium grease and ty to remember to loosen and retighten them just a bit after shooting. Sometimes I also check they aren't coming loose after a dozen shots or so. Having had epics myself getting them apart, I don't tighten them up hard now.
If you taken them right apart, clean the threads with a toothbrush then a rag as I get real hard white crumbly deposits falling out of my suppressor that feel like they would grit in and damage the threads. see: my old post on barrel and suppressor maintenance
A lever and a fulcrum - simple physics.

What threads are supposed to undo? Not the cerr first one aye? And not the cap on the last one?
Cheers mate, seems I have two seized then. Might PM @Pauli as I'd rather it was all sweet.
