    well I can tell you that nothing terrable happened to mine and Iv fired well over 1000 .223 I dont plan to clean it any time soon either

    I like to think the carbon protects the soft aluminum during the sand blasting of fireing

    and gunworks told me that they get quieter with a bit of carbon inside
