    Cleaning Mud off of Good Optics

    I have some really nice binoculars with coated lenses that I managed to jam into some sticky clay mud on the last hunting expedition. Now I am looking at them and any sort of wiping seems like it would be a bad idea. Was thinking about dipping them in water for a start, but not sure about that either. Any ideas?
