    Courier

    Hi all
I went to send my firearm via NZ Post/courier to get the suppressor checked out (had to get a family member to di this for me as Im currently away) and they text me saying that it was refused as its now a prohibited item due new rules.
Is this new? How can I send it to where it needs to go?
    What do you guys think?

    Cheers

    WW

I had the same issue. Was told that they randomly explode when dropped, rifles, when I argued with her and told her they shouldn't drop them in the first place she said she had seen the photos. I just repackaged it and labeled them as umbrellas and had no issues, strangely it didn't explode? Go figure.

But yeah fast ways will knowingly ship them but price goes up

Fastways. Make sure you tell them the bolt is packed separately/not included.

I wonder what they would do if they asked if the bolt was separate and you said no its a leaver action.

I've sent a lever action. I kept it easy and became temporarily confused and said yes the bolt wasn't included......

I keep it real easy and dont write anything on the box so its less likely to go missing. Also dont tell the lady what it is. If posible take the stock off and then it makes it smaller which saves a bit of money and looks less gun like

The courier simply needs to be assured you have not included the bolt.

I choose simply not two tell them when your bolt goes "missing" you'll thank me.
I also make sure shit is packaged so well you could throw it from the roof and still not open up.

Funny enough I just bought Neckshot's 260AI he's using H&F to ship to Nelson. I phoned the Nelson store yesterday to let them know it was coming and they ripped into me about how their stores aren't to be used for shipping firearms and they wouldn't receive it and shit, then the guy put someone else on and he said they don't want to be used as a courier service anymore but they'd let this one go. I thought it was a service they provided...

Contact your gunsmith and ask him who he uses when sending firearms back to the owners

Ask them kindly if they know where you can find a nearby "sports store" as you'd like to spend some money

I brought a rifle off trademe once and was a bit slow sorting out the police forms. I got home one day and wrapped in one sheet of cardboard was the rifle with bolt and mag inserted and 300 rounds. Was actually not to worried as I had misplaced my gun licence so saved myself a lot of bother

    So just do that.
