Question Custom rail or dovetail to weaver adapter ?

    Hey guys,
A friend of mine has kindly loaned me his ATN night vision scope to trial on hares to see if I like it.
My 17hmr has a dovetail the full length of the reciever, the atn has quick release picatinny/weaver style mount.
I could get a custom rail made up by the likes of waitaki engineering but I could also just buy a dovetail to weaver adapter as seen on trademe for around $30.
If this was to be a permanent fitting no questions I would go custom rail.
Will the adapter be fit for purpose just to trial or are they shit ?
    Thanks for your input

I may have some of those adaptors kicking around.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
