Customs agent is the easy way. You need to contact them and supply the info they need. Then pay their fees which will include Customs charges.
You can also arrange it yourself. If you don't already hold a Customs Client Code you can apply to obtain one and Customs will clear on your behalf as effectively you are your own broker. That way you pay Customs charges but nothing to a Customs Agent. Then when you go to collect Air New Zealand also has a fee payable.
