@Happys looking for a new one! Hahahahaha unless it's been badly damaged the barrel won't be worn, as happy says 5ks worth I've done over 1 k thru 2 of mine

I think bore scoping your barrel would be the next step after checking the scope. If you don't know somebody with a borescope that small( not all of them fit into a .17 barrel) maybe send it to grant at true flite.he probably would have the right borescope . He does a rifle check up for $30, and in certain cases like yours where all the avenues seems to have been looked at, it could be money well spent. Think how much more money you are going to have to spend in ammo, testing, cleaning, gunsmithing visits till you get somebody with a borescope who can analyse the problem properly and all the money you already spent since problem occurred.
As a side note, I have a 17 hmr match reamer that I could lend to grant if you were deciding to get him to push back the barrel and rechamber or if you where getting a new barrel fitted. If your rifle is the 455, then just buy another new barrel. It would be more economical.

Mine is Marilin. It loves the Heavier grain in Ballistic red tip Ss heavy barrel

Gets more use than the HMR these days. Cuts your rabbits in half though.

Thanks heaps for all the info guys @Friwi if I exhaust all other avenues then I might send it to grant and could be keen on the use of your reamer, hopefully it's not needed!

Just for info, it is a 452, I'm not sure what the difference is between that and the 455.
All I know is that in a very short period of time it has gone from a lazer to a shotgun!

I have a really nice Savage that went from Lazer to shotgun. Fouling was the problem in the end. Boresnake and a light scrub just wasnt enough. Hoppes and a huge scrub of bore and repeat was the trick. Being good ever since and fouling less now.....maybe your bore cleaner just isnt doing the job.

My 2c could be from over enthusatic cleaning, rod may have damaged the muzzle crown. Only takes a slight imperfection to bugger a tiny hole like that. Re crowning may be an option before throwing even larger wads of cash at it.

I am going to guess at a carbon ring, these can be hard to remove,
I have a 452, .17 HRM, and after a prolonged period of use, accuracy dropped of, a soak with foaming bore cleaner, and a clean with a bronze brush, a few times, Had to do this twice, it came back to normal.
what and how are you cleaning it, cleaning rod or pull threw, type of cleaner, and brush.
Damaged crown as already stated, a scope that's failed, a bad batch of ammo, yep I have struck this with the HMR, try another batch or weight to confirm.
stock cracked in the tounge, or over tight or loose screws.

its prity hard to stuff a gun but somehow friends can manage to do it . . . been there, now i have lenders that i don't care about.

last one was a .22 that came back with a damaged crown, sometimes its better if they don't clean them - before that was bent mag lips and it wouldn't feed . . . if nothings broken i consider myself lucky.

lent out my cz 455 in 22lr and it came back with my mates 30cal bronze brush jammed up the chamber... he tried to clean it for me!

Can you get a sighting cradle to clamp it into? That will sort if it's the barrel, you have fired it without the suppressor? Check the crown, I have a Brno mod 2 .22 and that would throw flyers, a re crown fixed it. It's Gotta be simple

Ive got a CZ 453 in 17hmr & that thing is a farken tack driver, theres some good advice on here so hope you get it sorted bro
