    Cz 455

Looking at changing my cz455 from 22lr to 17hmr, have a 10/22 and wanting a bit more range but not the hassle and cost of my 223.

Had a look at killwell and see they have barrels in stock. How hard is it to swap? Gun Smith or diy? And is it worth it? Know that scope would need changed etc but would be semi permenaant as 17hmr

Diy. Remove barreled action from stock, loosen 2 grub screws, pull old barrel out, and put new one in. Do up screws and put back in the stock. There are a few YouTube videos showing the procedure.

Very straightforward DIY. All the required bits will be with your original 455 /or the new barrel.
However, you will need a different magazine so make sure you factor that in. I'm guessing your swap will quickly become permanent :-)

There you go. Also consider getting a Yodave trigger kit which transforms the trigger from a heavyish/creepyish trigger into a very acceptable light trigger with virtually no creep.

@zimmer cheers, will have to look into the new trigger, being a leftie its a debate if its worth it. Shooting off a bipod or rest its almost quicker with a Rh action as i've got a spare hand, left works trigger right the action. But its a pain in the arse when holding foreend

Dave is in Canada and provides a super quick service. He is also on Ebay. I have got 2 kits off him so far. Cost around 40 bucks each at my door. Small amount of fiddling to fit.

+1 on zimmer. I have two installed and they transform the trigger. Well worth the investment and fiddling
