Cheaper to buy a second hand 455 in the calibre you want.... at least that was my experience. Except mine lives with the 17hmr on it and if I want to use a 22 I just take a different rifle, have found I like the 17hmr to much to muck around swapping barrels
I originally had a 17HMR in stainless synthetic, ended up just buying another rifle exactly the same in 22LR - seemed easier at the time, and now I have 2 rifles instead of just one that I need to fiddle around with to change calibre…..
(granted - I now have 2 scopes, rings etc etc - but where's the fun in dicking around swapping barrels etc when you can set each rifle up to be used as you intended it to be used....)
Yes, I am interested to hear what I COULD HAVE done.....
Check the Kilwell website for availability. It is easy to change barrels, keeps options open and facilitates some tinkering/amateur gunsmithing activities - especially if the trigger has been well tuned or upgraded.
