    CZ 527 Mauser Feed Issues.

    Hey team.

Just wondering if any of you guys have had and resolved feed issues on a cz 527.

I'm having it bind up on my 223. I've polished the mag but still seems to play up. It can very an accurate rifle but to much of a pig to use to take hunting.

I know this is a pretty common thing so I'm wondering how some of you guys have overcome it.

    Cheers,

Treat it like a baby. Hand feed and make the first count.

I have a 308 that feeds like a charm. Once I'm a better hunter I'll hopefully have the 223 dialed.

But the mauser action doesn't really like being hand fed either. It'll do it but it's noisy.

Hmmm , I've had a few of these and never an issue. The one I have now is a 6.8 SPC running in 7.62x39 mags and it's flawless with both mags, one of which is pretty beaten up. CZ have a weird habit of putting the mag springs in backwards on thier 22s, maybe they have taken a further step and started it with 527s. Have you tried it with another mag?

Where is it binding in the cycle I.e. right at the start or at half feed etc.?

now things to try - try loading with one less round in mag or even two less - and see if you can google an image of the mag parts to see if indeed there is a part put in back woods

I have the same issue with my .222. Works with one less round in the mag from experience, tried opening the magazine feed lips but not too much change.

I have been trying to cycle with 3 rounds, not 5 and it still struggles.

There is a guy who modified the spring clip on YouTube and he's the only guy who I've seen do that so I am a bit dubious.

Alternatively, could the rim of the case be too thick?

I'll get it out and see what I can find out.

I think it struggle at the mid point of feeding a round.

Had an absolute beast of a time with a Savage 223. See Savage model 10 input. Happy to have a look for a second opinion. PM me

The 223 I had liked to be run hard. If you babied the bolt then it would bind up a bit. Mags were fine.

I had a quick look on google and its not a new problem sadly - one recommendation was to cycle cases repeatedly and watch for wear - may get to see if there is a tight spot - some indication problem can go with use - good luck and ohh how new warranty ???

Another thought, these have a particular knack to reassemble the action and bottom metal to the stock. I've seen them (secondhand ones) in shops that are incorrectly assembled.

If they are wrong the bottom metal will protrude just a smidgen and the magazine catch and release don't work properly. The way to assemble them is to have the magazine in its well as you put it together.

If it's been assembled incorrectly and the action screws "hamfisted" then it might cause issues with feeding.

Okay. I think I experienced this when I took the action off the stock. The action wants to pivot or shuffle in the stock and prevents the mag from fitting or releasing. To solve it I loosened the acting screws and re tightened them ensuring the action stayed centre.

That took a couple of attempts.
