Ha Ha😆 If you ever do come across a stash we can share let me know. Otherwise I will try and track some down at my end.
You did say ages ago that AS30N was dirty and I am starting to notice it a lot more now. AP70 is better but not by much and you need a bigger charge for the same performance.

I run a couple of Shadows my primary is +100k of rounds, my back up around 15k. I like them for several reasons. The weight and ergonomics suit me, there are a lot of production legal after market products. Enough accessories are produced by various companies (no point having some oddball pistol that no-one makes a holster for).
Negatives, it requires a little more TLC than some...my Shadows tend to gum up at about 500 rounds if not cleaned which leads to an obvious solution. As even the biggest matches in NZ are unlikely to be more than 300 rounds over three days something has gone badly wrong if you don't find the time to clean the pistol. There are certain parts that are renowned for breaking on the Shadow, slide stops and trigger springs. It is a good idea to have a "competition" and practice slide stops and swap them out accordingly. When a "competition" slide stop gets a few rounds under its belt (keep a log) make it a "practice/club shoot" slide stop. Carry spares of the above and spare fiber optics (and the lighter etc to fit it). I have an ability to break/destroy things so some of the destruction I've done is not typical.

I'd possibly buy a Xcaliber if I was going to replace my Shadows. They shoot really well and fit my hand well, just the trigger isn't as nice as the Shadow's. It is lighter and with a couple of dodgy shoulders it might work better for me.
As mentioned there is an approved list of pistols for IPSC production class, if in doubt check. Production is still the biggest division in New Zealand probably because it is financially and logistically the most accessible. A lot of the master graders that used to shoot production have moved on to other divisions though (Classic got a lot of them). The decocking is just a matter of getting used to, at this point I'm probably almost too blasé about it, but I've yet to have a UD doing it. You can shoot a Shadow in minor in Standard but you are going to make life hard for yourself, I think my Tanfoglio shooting .40S&W major holds 19 rounds, the Shadow holds 19 rounds minor. Doable but...
I don't experiment with loads I use 4.2 gr. AP50, 124 g. Rusa flatnose projectiles and Federal small pistol primers. It isn't the nicest powder but it is cheap and reliably available. The load could be worked on but it cycles and is accurate enough and makes power factor.
I use a magnet on the front pouch, useful for table starts and picking up peoples magazines when walking through patching and scoring. It helps to practice with them as with mine the point to which I grab the magazine is an inch or so forward of where I normally index to.
Trigger spring should read trigger return spring.
Where do you source your slide stops and how much Mufasa?
I heard they can go but didn't think it was a certainty.
Cheers for the heads up by the way.
Nothing worse than not being prepared if you travel away for a comp and have equipment failures.

Is there anyone on here that shoots a Xcaliber?
I am so tempted to buy one. I shoot open class but it might be time for a change.
If you have one, what are they like?
Talk to Lindsey at hpc Simon

I imported mine from CZcustom.com but be warned they charge like raging bulls for freight so it pays to pad or combine the order. Probably a simpler solution would be to talk to Chris at competitionguns.co.nz, I think seriousshooters carry them, I imagine gunsuppplies would but I'm not sure. One option I never tried was trying to source them from Europe; I should probably try that as historically I've found the postage more reasonable if somewhat slower.
I shot an Xcaliber a little. There are three minor things I didn't like about it other than the trigger ((it isn't bad just not as nice as the CZ's) certainly after spending a bit of time again on a standard glock 17 trigger I really appreciate the Xcal and CZ more). The front sight as far as I know only comes in a 1.5mm fiber... I prefer 1mm and something so minor almost not worth mentioning is that the slide release button is somewhat obstructed by safety if you intend to use the strong hand thumb to release it which most don't and lastly the slide seems to get somewhat hotter than I am used to with other pistols (I rack the slide holding it forward of the ejection port on occasions).
Hey guys, I too have been strongly looking at the CZ75 Shadow for my first pistol and will be ordering one next week.
Could let you know where will have them next week for $1400 if you like ;)
Cheers Mufasa. Very informative.
I have dealt with Chris a bit lately he has been very helpful.
Happy to spend my coin with him.

I've onlt heard good things about Chris and his work. I'm still running mine 100% factory, not mods or spring changes. Can get a SS guide rod, recoil, main, firing pin springs all pretty cheap ex US myself, but understand Chris put a comp hammer in too.
