I mean they are "da bomb man"
No Spanners is has not turned into a grenade yet............. early days only 80 odd shots.
I wanted a bush gun................but one that was still capable of shooting out to 700 yards, as where I hunt there are plenty of slips that are hard to get close to. I did not want a long range gun as I've already got one that does LR well.
I have just finished working up a load for my T3 7mm Mag. I chose to go short (for this caliber) at 21 inch with a magnum Hardy supppressor. 300mm long and 392 grams. This makes the overall length 25mm longer than standard. Fit and finish appear good. With a 6500 Bushell fitted it weighs a tad over 8.5lbs and points reasonable.
The load I settled on is 70gr 2213sc with 162gr SST traveling at 2965 f/sec. I've shot this load in 5 X 3 shot strings. The best group at 100 yards is 12mm and the worst is 15mm. These were shot in normal field conditions with a bit of wind, flys buzzing around and off a bi-pod.
With the job done I went for a quick hunt. Knocked 3 goats over at 388 yards then stretched it out to 818 yards (so much for 700 limit) getting 2 with 3 shots. I'm happy with the result and think it will fill the role I built it for.
