    The gyrojet.

A whole new proposed branch of firearms which looked to replace bullets as we know them with miniature rockets (.50 cal-ish from memory). A whole lot were privately purchased to take to Vietnam apparently, however, being a rocket, their launch velocity is incredibly slow and they take a while to get up to speed - not so useful in close jungle, not to mention issues with moisture and rocket fuel.

Apparently they were just a lemon concept. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyrojet

"Which again is great as I used to find the only thing that would reliably fit the slot was a coin, and I never had one when out shooting." @Beetroot I used to put a 5 cent coin under one of the turrets on my 22 for just that occurrence. Still there
YES ! The curved screw slot. NONE of your 20 screwdrivers can fit & turn it without gouging. And its dimensioned to take a nickel or shilling or the rim of a .303 Brit. Only Din Collings himself could ever have turned it cleanly.

    Yeah well, there are conditions.
You must have at least 2 of the following:

    1 A continual facial twitch.
    2 A hair trigger temper.
    3 Tourettes.
4 A halitosis forcefield of not less than 2 metres radius.

    Some laughs here

But I will go out on a limb and say I LIKE Sakos scope mounting system!
Can you readily get cheap Chinese produced crap mounts for cheap?no!....ok probably but I am bloody rough on gear when it comes to hunting guns and the Sako tapered mount with either the Sako mount or Lupy mount has NEVER caused me an issue in the field despite massive abuse!

    Sabot hunting projectiles.
Got the bullet up to incredible velocities for long range varmints but were never accurate enough to be useful.
