If you look at all these calibre's ballistics they are so close it's not really a choice of whether they'll do the job (at normal, ethical hunting distances) but more of what's readily available (pills wise) and whether your rifle will spit them out in a nice tight group. Then it's just a matter of putting that bullet where it needs to go. In my experience there is a bit more choice out there for .270 calibre loads and projectiles than .25/06 (for which the heaviest readily available pills are usually 120gr) But, the .25 kicks/jumps a bit less than the 270 (unsuppressed rifles) so if you hate recoil, maybe go 25/06. You can't go too far wrong with either.
