    Delta titanium vs nikon p1000

Have managed to save up enough to upgrade some optics and looking for some advice.

Having never used a superzoom camera out in the hills I don't know their full pros/cons.
I understand that cameras are lighter but then you have to deal with fragility and charging batteries, where as the spotters will be heavier but more robust. I also like that I can use my phone screen on the spotter (something I carry anyway) and get a better picture than the camera screen, however for the price the p1000 seems to have a longer range on it.
I have seen p1000's going for around $1400 and the delta spotter is $1200.

Anyone used both of these and can provide some insight? Also open to other suggestions.

    Thanks
