From memory the S is for the Synthetic stocked models. Not sure about the A though. The JW27 is a fairly decent version as well. Had one of those for about 20 years.

You need to talk to Mudgripz, he is the expert on all things .22. Not only will he tell you the difference but probably the batch of steel it came from, the name of the Chinese guy / girl who put it together and what they had foe lunch that day. ( I am going for a rice or noodle based dish )

I believe you're right Viper.... Tuesday JW15s are made by a young lady called Suzie Wang so all are marked with an S.

I have this on the best possible information....

i was led to believe the jw15a's where earlier import ones that where better build finis ? but who knows.
i do however have jw15a and its shoots fantastic and the jw15s shot just average till i had it cut down (bore wasn't center of barrel at 16 inches) but that could have been the new crown job more than anything.

JW15 - Chinese copy of Brno
JW15a - Upgraded trigger mech and improved wood stock.
JW15s (or sometimes called "e") synthetic stock - boasts improved accuracy due to better bedding. (Think gun city calls them "s")

Random note: think Auz call them Puma 's now.
