Do quality/affordable NEW SxS 12g shotguns still exist?

Have been wanting of a nice sxs for awhile now, but seems there is a massive hole in the market? I can get a Turkish made work tool for about $999, next in line I've seen is a $10k Beretta. Is there such thing as a new SXS 12g in NZ that fit's in the $1-5k bracket? Or should I just find a tidy old girl?

Plenty of tidy older guns since semis are flavour of the week.

Churchill are available about $1600-1800 ish from memory
I would like the beretta but it would be an activating event for register so no new gun for me.
If you dont want brand new then there are many options for a nice sxs in 12ga

Akkar, Kahn, hulgu all Turkish make them you will also see Webley and Scott ones occasionally but they're Turkish as well. The Turks do make some exceptional shotguns. They lack one trigger though, a single one suffices for both barrels, but most have interchangeable chokes.
Older guns as Micky says offer good value, mostly 2 triggers and are fixed choke. The issue of steel shot resulted in quite a glut of lovely old guns.

Look out for a Japanese SKB s/s with removable chokes. Good for steel as well as lead.

I'll keep an eye out! Also planning on getting a O/U for getting back into clays, that might help scratch the itch. But I think I will still want a SxS

Steel shot issues were a bit of a have. Now we have good loads I happily use 2 3/4" loads in double or even single barrel break open guns.

@Micky Duck don't you have a Baikal? You could hammer a 3 1/2 inch steel into one of those and it wouldn't notice 😁

@Marty Henry the REALLY REALLY scarey part......the bakail U/O is 2 3/4" chambered I can put a 3 1/2" shell into top chamber and SHUT THE ACTION!!!!!!! the 3" was bad enough but when I could fit the big one in it scared the crap out of me.
I happily fire lighter loads of steel through it..the 32grm loads work very well.

Somewhat generous tolerance there I feel, not that I want to feel it, I suspect it would be quite brisk. Still it does prove how well built they are.
