    Got me stumped
    Now the pic comes up.
    Breech block
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

@muzza give that man a huge prize.
    That's exactly what it is.
The breech block is at Godley head where I am doing building conservation contract for DoC and I spent the day in Ripapa island where the gun it's from is

Two of the guns are almost intact in Ripapa
One has all its aiming quadrant marks in the walls and charge weights etc
The big holes in the walls for cleaning rods and charging rods
    Magazines
Even a cleaning rod mop bucket

    Very interesting gain twist rifling.
You would need a serious lathe to knock one up

There are some in fired projectiles up here at Godley heads from the Ripapa guns and I will try to get some images tomorrow

Drat, Oh well it was worth a shot.

Has the gun it came from had any gas cuts or other significant damage?

Would be pretty cool to fire off a nice big blank round through it....
