    Doing another 10-22 trigger

I made a thread a few months ago for a fix to my heavy 1022 trigger
while the volquartsen parts were Ok it is a damn expensive fix for a cheep gun that quite honestly isnt that great of a trigger

Its good enough that I wont worry about replacing it but really im underwhelmed about its overall cost vs outcome

currently I have a magnum research 1022 magnum that Iv been asked to look at, and reccomend him a way to improve the trigger on, I cant really reccomend the volquarsen while its good, it cost close to two hundred dollars, and the 30$ spring kit on my brno model 2 is a far better improvment

So what is the best options? factory trigger tune? which gunsmith? what is the outcome?
I remember Kidd coming up last time, is there anything that is as good/better recently available?

is the timney similar/ better than the volquarsen?

    cheers

    In order:
    VQ internals-VQ trigger-Timney-Kidd.

If someone has an expensive 10/22, go with the Kidd.
Timney isn't bad - but you might as well get the Kidd.

Otherwise, gunsmith can make the factory trigger surprisingly good.

I've heard of folks taking to the hammer and sear with a bit of elbow grease and buffing em right up can help it break a little easier. Even removing a wee bit of metal. No cost if you got the nouse. Cant vouch for results personally though.

is the fact that it is 22 magnum going to stop a drop in from dropping in?
I read that they are the same but until I take mine out to compair it is only what Iv read

Just sent an email to ask avialbility of kidd triggers to USAGUNS.co.nz to see what stock in NZ is looking like

I pulled my 10/22 trigger to bits and honed it up and it made a big difference, sandpaper over 1000 grit and a diamond stone worked well you just have to be careful not to hone it to much.
Think i found a youtube clip on how to do it.
