    Dot sight for shotgun

Won't be anytime soon but looking for a small (smaller the better), dot sight for the mossberg.
I had an OEG on it for quite a while back in the day but it is relatively big and a lot higher from the top of the gun than I'd like.
Money will be a deciding factor so tiny little trijicons etc whilst ideal definitely off the table.
I do see they are enclosing some of them now to make them a bit tougher/more waterproff

Holosun, if you want enclosed emitter get a 509t, however this is one of their more expensive optics

Haven't tried a bead although I have thought about it. Would have to be very bright.
Some of the justification is that I am left eye dominant so my sight picture is to the left of the shotty.
Back when I was a reasonable shot it didn't matter so much.
Sadly the force has diminished of late.
The OEG worked well as it wasn't bad looknthrough sight. Didn't matter with the left eye dominant thing.
It would have to be pretty bright for my right eye to really pick it up otherwise it's not much different to normal.
Again I do realize if the shotgun fits that's 90% of the battle.
BUT I just don't shoot as well as I used to with the same shotties so looking for any help i can get lol

I use one of these and it works well for my mild cross-dominance: https://broncos.co.nz/optics-and-sig...i-comp-shotgun It's not super-bright though (which is fine by me), and it sounds like you might have other requirements as well?

These longer ones are pretty bright, as long as there's some light around for it to pick up https://xhunteronline.co.nz/products...3e9db687&_ss=r

Neither will be quite the same as a dot sight, obviously.

Burris speedbead, or shoot one eye closed. I had same issue starting out but eventually managed to learn to shoot with non dominant wye

Works a treat for what I'm using it for. Mostly roos and hopefully pigs if the opportunity ever presents itself.

If you are happy with the OEG, have a look here - https://www.armsonusa.com/index.html

@Bol Tackshin I like the OEG but it does have some limitations and is just way bigger than I'd like on the top of the shotty

@Stump Burris speed bead not a bad thing but no mounts for the 500 and the enclosed Aimpoint acro is only a couple of hundy dearer but both way out of the budget
@Micky Duck yeah not going to shoot left handed. I have shot with a guy that did exactly that but not in the least interested in that. Just don't do enough shooting to either practice it nor justify the hassle

@csmiffy - it definitely isn't a petite featherweight, and the limitations are also very real. When I first tried the OEG on a tranquilizer gun, I aimed it and could only see black for about a minute... eventually I found the dot again, but it was pretty tense for a moment and I felt like a right arse. Thankfully it was only a tranquilizer gun, and not one of the dangerous game rifles we used on occasion.

@Bol Tackshin it worked for me very quickly because of the left eye thing. Didn't have to try it just worked. Had it on a 22 and pulled off a couple of snap shots on birds. Got it mounted on a rossi 92.
Probably the best gun for it but it does spoil it a bit.
It would work well on a bush gun
