    DPMS Gen2 .308 AR

DPMS GII // DESIGNED II DOMINATE INTRO

Actually looks fairly interesting - very close to AR15 receiver size, AR15 thumbhole stocks will fit due to identical dimensions in the right places, AR15 handguards that fit standard AR barrel nut will fit (with the right barrel nut), significantly lighter than all the various other "AR10" receiver designs. Hope it's not crap, reasonably priced, and available in NZ. Makes the .308 AR platform more enticing with a more realistic size/weight.

make Noveske make a N6 to this size and I'll buy two

e: their .308 guns ~*reportedly*~ are better than 5.56 and also it's the only vaguely interesting .308 AR platform, up from zero previously

same, and cut it down + free float tube and geissele. Build up from receiver set + BCG + barrel + barrel nut might be the most economical way to go though given that the factory furniture is pretty much throwaway, even down to the buffer tube if you want it A-cat. They will be selling stripped receivers etc same as they did with the old Gen1 gear.

    Depends which model you look at - the AP4 Gen1 is 8.5lbs, Gen2 is 7.25lbs... so a 1.25lb loss.

the Hunter has less difference in weight, but the Gen2 has a 20" barrel and Gen1 has 16"... and Gen2 is still lighter.

I'm quite excited about it, even though it's... dpms.

I guess we'll see - they're already available in the US so user reviews will be around.

Haha yup. Land of the forgotten. Middle Earth, fucking middle of nowhere earth.

Hard enough trying to get decent Primers and 208gr amax today, let alone firearms or parts.

Don't see what the issue with mags is? Brownells? Nobody seems to be having difficulty importing mags atm.
