Note I said "Mk1 magnum" not "MK1", which DPT confirmed elsewhere that they'll fit

Mk1 and Mk2 suppressors use different baffles, the Mk2 brake front cap wont fit the Mk1 suppressor.
I am assuming the confusion has come from the Mk2 ULTRA magnum suppressor takes the Mk1 baffles, we have available 30cal and 338cal muzzle brake front caps in Mk1 that will fit the ULTRA mag suppressor and the Mk1 suppressor.

This is not something we have tested and will be dependent on the rifle.

I would buy one and use it on my MK2 exactly how MD described if the POI didn't change.

Hmm, I'll buy a supressor/sound moderator but want to add a brake on the end to make it louder again...

Maybe this is DPT responding to market demand, as Matt Dubber and a few of the SA shooting personalities who are big on Utube have used this type of 'supressor' ehich is ultimately pointless.

I can't forsee a supressor wrap working well with a brake on the end. So double negative as you can't do anything to counter the increased mirage.
What is the noise vs unsupressed? If there is still a meaningful reduction then its hardly pointless, just a balance between recoil and noise, could also be balanced with further baffles as well.

These aren’t loud, either use it or don’t. Wouldn’t bother unscrewing and screwing it back on.

I've just added a brake to my dpt mark 2, took it straight out to 650 yards on a cleaned barrel, after 12 or so shots it settled down to group a half moa high and right. Everybody landed on steel, looks to be about 800 square or maybe a meter square sized plate

    Hmmmmm....
@DPT can you do these with smaller ports, slightly longer, but a rotating cover to shut them off if you don't want the brake for whatever reason? A "best of both worlds" option? As someone stated up a bit, prone shots over pumice for one example and shooting with a radial brake is a very good way to fark your scope's lenses, I sandblasted a mates scope accidentally like that and it was lucky that it was a cheapy that was on it's last trip anyway. Rooted the front lens coating near totally.

As far as noise, if the can has reduced the gas velocity then the expectation would be that the braked end would be noisier than suppressed, but not as bad as a straight muzzle or a braked end I would expect. It would be a useful option when shooting pests and needing more muzzle control for follow up shots, and I would think that it would still scramble the noise signature enough to help stop animals from knowing exactly where the shot originated from. I think this would have it's place to be fair.

Would that not also influence the POI?

Put my braked can (6.5PRC) to use over the weekend. 342m shot and kept the hind in the scope the whole time so saw the shot was good from her reaction. Was no louder than the can without the brake.

Had previously checked POI and was the same with the brake and without.
