Friwi is a bloody perfectionist, which is a common theme at DPT by all accounts. The angle at which the crown is cut when using a suppressor is important, it helps reduce build up of powder deposits.

It would save the hassle of sending.

For a quick update, I got my rifle suppressed by @DPT and they did an outstanding job! I’m quite detail oriented and definitely a perfectionist, so I was probably a frustrating customer for Rick and the team.

I specifically wanted a recessed crown machined when they shortened the barrel and was expecting to find something minor that only I would ever notice but would still irritate me…but I was wrong… the threading and the crown are absolutely flawless and the thread protector is really tidy as well.

Massive recommendation to the team at DPT! Now the dream of enjoying shooting my 270win and without being antisocial, can become reality.

you will wonder how the hell you ever put up with it unsuppressed....... difference is HUGE.... to extent that once ever year, just fire one round without suppressor, just to remind yourself how much better it is.... one is enough,my ears ring for hours LOL.

It is a 270win Howa 1500 with a sporter barrel about 21.5”. My intention is to shorten it to 20”, and thread 9/16-24 for a Mk2 Overbarrel with a stainless baffle. I have 0.635” on barrel thickness at 20” so open to suggestion if there are better thread sizes to consider.
Just PM Friwi. Dude knows his stuff.
