if its the same as the older tang safety model...the middle one should be not much more than finger tight.... there are plenty of posts on google search with figures...I did middle one just nipped up and the other two firm...and mates rifle shoots better than we can hold it....

Thanks MD, I realised as soon as I posted it was a stupid question (quite fitting given the thread title I suppose), i haven't found the exact figure but general consensus seems to be around the 45ft/lbs for the angled screw in the action and around 35 for the others. Encouraging to hear of your mates rifle - I think I've got a bit carried away with chasing accuracy as I was perfectly happy with the Ruger until I bought a Sako which shoots cloverleaf groups; had to remind myself minute of deer within 200m is perfectly adequate.

You'll probably break the screws if you try to torque them to 45 ft/lbs. I think 45 inch/lbs would be more like it.
