    Thanks MD, I realised as soon as I posted it was a stupid question (quite fitting given the thread title I suppose), i haven't found the exact figure but general consensus seems to be around the 45ft/lbs for the angled screw in the action and around 35 for the others. Encouraging to hear of your mates rifle - I think I've got a bit carried away with chasing accuracy as I was perfectly happy with the Ruger until I bought a Sako which shoots cloverleaf groups; had to remind myself minute of deer within 200m is perfectly adequate.

    You'll probably break the screws if you try to torque them to 45 ft/lbs. I think 45 inch/lbs would be more like it.
