I think we have a vested interest in keeping guns out of the hands of unstable people.I would happily volunteer for more stringent evaluation of "fit and proper person", as its the only actual relevant part.

unfortunately this path of common sense is a road less travelled. the lawmakers seem to think because of a tragedy involving unstable person and a firearm, the best course of action is to restrict the use of firearms on everybody, rather that identifying the unstable persons, and dealing with the instability.
how they can think that restricting pistol grips, bayonet lugs, flash hiders etc, makes anyone safer is beyond me.
I do completely agree with extra security, an Ecat safe is not that expensive, compared to the money involved in the contents stored in the safe, and considering they would be a highly sort after item to criminals.
