Is it the end of the road for my Z5

    Hi team,
I went out for a shot tonight, put my pack on the ground and lay my riffle on it while getting the rest of my gear out of the truck.

Picked my riffle up and thought something doesn't look right. The ballistic turret on top of the scope was missing (broken off).

Now I haven't wacked the scope on anything just noticed it missing. I couldn't find it either and I have taken some photos for you to look at.

    Thoughts?

@7mm Rem Mag Yep, worth $1 but I will double that!
Seriously, go for a warranty claim.

funny, same thing happened to a young mate of mine and his Z5 while hunting in Canterbury a couple of years back, scope wasnt very old, he said he didnt drop the rifle or have any falls / knocks and noticed the turret was gone. scope got a trip back to factory and all good now

Yeah I'm very careful with my gear so I was shocked when I got it out of the truck to see that.

    Okay,
When duley had his swaro fail if was because it got bent.
This swaro has broken as well.
I have heard of more as well.
The swaro are great scopes but not tough as is becoming obvious.
The 3 R's pertain to the nf brand that if you are going for the trophy of a life time and you have been on a rough mission to take the shot you can guarantee it won't be your scope letting you down.
I'm a rough bastard so can vouch for the 3 R's!

You forgot the 4th "r" really heavy

Swaros are very nice scopes and lightweight for what they are but it is this lightness I suspect that makes them susceptible to being easily damaged or worn even.

Both are good scopes but both have different niches in the market........consequently both are well outta my price range

I cleaned my riffle after my last hunt on Friday night and didn't notice it then.

I took riffle out of my truck last night and lay it down on my pack while getting other stuff ready, then when I picked it up I noticed it.

Unfortunately it was on long grass, I had a quick look for the turret but couldn't find it then I started to doubt myself and thought maybe it dropped off at home but a good search of the house showed nothing.

You would think it would need a good hard knock or a drop to break it off but that never happened and where the turret is remains a mystery.
