Before I worried about a thermal for pigs I would flick a spotlight around at 10pm and if non are seen again at 3am if you are determined to look for them at night. Otherwise if you have a day of rain that clears warm in the late afternoon the pigs will out in force and easy to shoot. The other way is follow them into the bush at daylight as they bumble their way back to their bedding area.
Don't forget to turn off light after you shoot if it is not a drop shot
Pigs run straight up the light
