The extractor on my 223 zastava has started playing up, it occasionally will not extract a fired case, tipping the rifle up generally has the case drop out so they are not tight. Closing the bolt again works. It could be wear as it is "sloppy" but cant remember it having any tension. Round count is just under 4000.
Does anyone know how to remove the extractor, I've stripped the bolt but its not retained by the pin, and seems to be in a blind hole and wont wiggle out.
Cases are a mix of win, privi, and hornady, on 3rd to 7th reloads neck sizing only and checked for length after 5 top ups.
Thanks for any insightful tips, except for the "should have bought a tikka" type etc
I have a savage in 17 hornet with the same problem, it was new and when i had the head space checked it was over by .6mm. Got this fixed now it extracts ok
