Used to shoot bunnies full time some 20 years ago, and found the fine crosshair scopes to be super when aiming small. I have been hunting round for one but almost seems to be an old thing.
This was how simple they were

Does anyone know if these still exist and are they in an affordable .22 scope price bracket?

What people consider target scopes these days are Tactical long range scopes
Not target scopes built for the Sole purpose of putting holes in paper
A fine duplex is not what you would want in a long range hunting, prs etc scope which is what most Manufacturers are focused on as its the latest craze in shooting sports
It’s more Restricted to bench rest scopes and the likes where an ultra fine reticle is exactly what you want generally
Also look at fine duplex with 1/8moa target dot they are nice
One of my weaver’s has that it’s really nice the other one has the fine duplex as per your op
Might have a couple of cheaper but good 6-20+ Target scopes coming up

I know one is a nikko stearling target master and I think hes going to sell a couple of his well sort after japan made tasco ts24’s also (extremely good scopes from before tasco become trashco)
I have it in a vx6 its awesome for long range critters
I have the Clearidge 3-9. It is an excellent scope made in Japan. When Weaver was still in business their 3-9 was exactly the same scope. I went Clearidge because if the fine crosshair.Quote:

Edit: Hawke do super thin ones too with plenty in the 22LR price point. https://www.outdoorsupplies.co.nz/Hawke_Scopes.htm stocks them, along with a few other stores.
This one is a Leupold 4-12x40. Not the best pictures stag but should get the idea.

The only Weavers around now are second hand. Unless there are very old stock lurking on a shelf somewhere. Sadly Weaver ceased to exist several years ago otherwise I would have bought several more 4-16 EB-X Grand Slams, one of the nicest scopes around.Quote:

I also have a leupold target with a fine duplex but they still have thick cross hairs until the Centre bit where it’s very fine same as above

I think I have a couple of Nikko ones here but if I do they are Targetmaster or Diamonds..8-32x50mm I think, I also know where there is a slightly second hand 6-24 Nikko Target master but I don't know if he will part with it..
The Bushnell Deploy reticle in the Engage series is fine.
All seem high magnification, the one I was using was only 4x and the cross hairs wouldn’t cover the eyeball of a rabbit at 40 yards.Quote:
