    Firearm Re-Bluing

    Hi Gents,

I have a guy who wants a pistol polishing and re-bluing, not something that I do and am struggling to find anyone who still does. Anyone got any leads?

    Thanks

Not sure if it helps but Allen Carr in Paraparaumu did a rifle for me maybe eight years back, did a very nice job of it. Took a while though as he prefers to have a batch of re blueing jobs to make it worth heating up the tank.

Used to get bluing done my Malcolm Willis Ltd Mangere Auckland, he still does commercial coatings, could be worth a call.

Nelson Collie is still doing bluing, I presume he'd take on the polishing as well.

Allan told me he won’t do pistols as he doesn’t have an endorsement to keep them in the workshop. This might be the case with other gunsmiths too perhaps.
