Jeeez can you even begin to imagine what is going to happen country wide when this all kicks in. The members of this forum would arguably be some of the more informed regarding the requirement around the rules and regs surounding firearms registration. If there is confusion here then the mind boggles as to how the the rest or the firearms owning population interpret this clusterfuck.

You really need to hear what non-forum members think they know about the registration!

I need a definitive list of what constitutes a ‘major part’.
I know what would be at the top of the list but how far down in size/importance does the list go?

Jesus Christ. Its written in an enormous font on the previous page. Its an extraordinarily short list of three lines.

I am sure the people that passed this law never thought is wasnt going to work simply because firearms users would simply refuse to read it.

Thinking about that one I don't see a "when" this registration of endorsed items must occur - I'm catching up with the Arms Officer in Lower Hutt sometime in the next few days to register a new pistol so will ask him then and post up any result

All as clear as mud, good job plod

A bit of a whoops on my part - I only read the big writing and skipped over the fine print lower down!
    Lesson learnt!

Yeah likewise, heaps of people have no idea. Especially a few farmers who don't spend much time on the internet.

Youd think if they wanted a decent rate of compliance they could send you an email. They sent me a couple prior to the gun grab so no reason why they cant again.

I'd say that's why they have it over a 5 year period. Gives everyone plenty of time on both sides. I highly doubt they'll come down on anyone too hard in these early days if there was a mistake made.
