    fitting an extra strength main spring to tikka

    people who have done this, how did you manage to remove the old and replace the new?

    I feel like id need to be an octopus to have enough hands

    ah well I sorted it anyway. for anyone trying this get a 8mm spanner and compress the spring. lock it by squeezing the spanner against the firing pin
    two knives to separate the retaining clip then slide it up the firing pin with pliers

    replace then repeat.
    prick of a job helps if you have two people

    wasnt convincingly hitting the primers had a few fail to fire, could have been that the false shoulder wasnt enough on the fire-forming 270 cases, could have been the way i set the die up, either way it is really convincing now

    really hits the primers now. im a happy boy

    not a lot of info out there that i can find as a guide, hopefully this can help when the next poor sap gives this a go

    you would understand what i mean if you had the firing pin assembly in ya hands happy
