Hey year I had a look through that and a pulsar model on a night vision night at a local gun shop.
The Pulsar seemed better. Can't really give you more than that as once I looked through the two of them I lost interest in the Flir and just concentrated on the Pulsar.
What pulsar was that? Thermals have very confusing models and they seem to look the same externally..

I've used both pulsar (Helion and Trail) and FLIR LS units a fair bit. The FLIR units are more compact and seem more robust (but have yet to break a pulsar or a FLIR for that matter), but the image quality is far better on the Pulsar.
Would you put the ls64 35mm flir on similiar standard to a hd38 quantum pulsar? Seem to have similiar specsQuote:

What are you looking at using it for?
Just a general spotter on big game to quickly scan over areas and highlight anything that needs closer inspection with binos. Its a bit of a novelty thing to be fair and budget only goes to 2k tops
Got the ls64. Its certainly on par with the 38hd I used a few years ago. Has a cool feature of showing red hot which stands out straight away for alive things...
And far more ergonomic
That proves how good the old Pulsar HD38 is. The Flir LS64 has a 640 X 512 pixel sensor, whilst the Pulsar HD38 has a 384 x 288 pixel sensor, is 6 years old and pretty poor compared to the newer Pulsars, which have the 'red hot' mode plus loads of other features.Quote:
