So I got curious and googled up a review of these from the US - yeah, lots of chatter about leaving one behind the door for home defense as you'd expect. Not what we do in NZ.

But surprisingly, a lot of people using them in a sport shooting or match type situation where you need to drop bowling pins in a certain time and reporting that the stock actually works quite well for that. Not at all uncontrollable. Well colour me surprised!

    Nope

Its a standard firearm* in NZ under the Arms Act definitions. And why not? Any objection to that is simply based on appearance.

Of course it's not very useful for much, but probably quite fun

*note that under current Act definitions there is no such thing as a "standard firearm" but this gun doesn't fall into any of the defined categories of pistol, prohibited, restricted, etc

does its instruction manual say be of stout build before attempting to fire - done a lot of heli shooting with a 12 gauge but not sure I would have liked to have put thru a few hundred buck shot for the morning run with that no

Phil is that the handbag limit you will have by seven?
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Used a cut down 12 gauge single on pigs, good as long as you had a tight grip, sound familiar?
