    I didn't need to check

Fraser only made 420 falling block single shot rifles
There will be some in NZ
I don't want one because he neglected to put an exposed hammer on it.

But it would be nice to see one in the flesh because I have been doing some work for a guy in the USA who has at least 10 of them
    Yes seriously

It's one thing to discuss something you've seen on line and another thing entirely to discuss something you have actually handled

I have gone way out of my way to view a couple of very rare single shot rifles recently.
They are definitely Not For Sale
You can't own everything, but it's very nice to have actually seen, held and photographed them.
And nice to meet other guys who are passionate about them
In one case the owner knew it was rare but I was able to establish with the world authority on that Maker that it is the only known example

    I certainly don't want a Fraser myself
But would love to see the build quality and engraving because Daniel Fraser Co was perhaps the very best gun finishers.

There were a few Fraser rifles listed at holts in the last few auctions. Definitely some of the best finished classics firearms.

When I was in a quest to find and buy a Field's falling block I bumped into 4 of the Field's Martinis
I found 3 Field's falling blocks in NZ as well and brought one of them

The Martini is supposed to be less common
But both types are pretty rare here despite there being around 2500 total made of the combined styles

At least William Field knew which end to put the trigger on his Martini action

@Lucky if you wanted a Field's Patent Martini I know where another one is that would be for sale
Can't remember if it was 450 no1 Express or no2 Musket though
But either one are great calibers
From memory it was nicely engraved but not tigers and lions like GCs

Cheers @akaroa1 , been putting a bit of thought into what direction I want to go next , trouble is I need to sell some stuff first and the market is not exactly hot .
Might try listing something in the coming days , I also enjoy looking at them without the intention to buy but simply to marvel at what they are and the craftsmanship just like yourself.
