Question Free floating a Remington 700 ADL

Hi all, want to get peoples thoughts on potentially free floating a Remington 700 ADL. By default they have small plastic nibs that the barrel rest against at the fore of the barrel. Is best way to sand them off until no contact with the barrel. Has anyone else done this themselves?
    Any info is good, cheers

Do not just remove the pressure points in the barrel channel, without strengthening the forend and bedding the action. You’ll find that with the barrel floated that the stock is flexible enough to flex at the recoil lug and causing accuracy issues.
    erniec and Hermitage like this.
