Hi all any one had experience with a hk g3 claw scope mount, it sits on the receiver just fine but won't fully latch down and lock into place, have tried taking a couple of shim washers out of the pressure pads but still no go... Next step remove some material from the locking cams??

The only thing I know about them is they are only really suitable for a very small optic , like the 4x24mm military scopes that bolted to the mount , put a large scope on them and they donot hold up well .
Have you tryed google or youtube ?
Hold up as in under recoil? Yeh tried google that's where I got info about the shim washers

If you look at the later HK series G3 rifles the PSG & the MSG90 , both of these use different mounting systems , over the older claw type mount , also the Sweds , when they did a refurb on their G3s , and wanted to mount optics , they welded a solid rail to the receiver's .
I think its due to the heavier weight of the bigger scopes etc , over the little 4x24 scopes .
