mate, if you are going for a sub 200 mtr bush only rifle with a short barrel why not go to something with a bigger hole.
larger hole will be more efficient in a short barrel and make a bigger hole.
How about something in the 35 cal range. ie 358 win. just run some of your 308 shells though a standard neck expanding, sizing die and hay presto.
Other wise you have the 35 rem or 35 Legend, then all the 44/45 cal variants.
In my 358win I shoot 158gr pistol bullets over trail boss 16-1700 fps for goats up close and personal like and 225gr for large game.
