    Hey Ian welcome to the Forum.
    Sounds like a nice rig. You should sight-in yourself so that it's perfect for your eyesight and shooting style, not someone else's! Zeroing at 150 yds would make the most of the .17 HMR.
    "Where to shoot near Christchurch?" is asked about once a week on here...one of the locals might be able to get you onto a range.
