Thread: Give it the snip?

I have recently found myself the owner of my first riffle a Savage 110 .308. I have been told by the previous owner that he was shooting 1.4moa which is close to what im getting at the moment. I am by no means a gun smith but looking at the last inch or so of the barrel at the muzzle end there isn't a hell of a lot of riffling visible. Would it be advisable to get a gunsmith to trim a inch off the end or would it not do much to the accuracy. Any advise appreciated. Cheers
