Anyone seen these? Pretty cool but think they come in a bit heavy for a titanium action and bolt. What everyone's thoughts on these. Have a quick look on Facebook if you haven't seen it.

Too lazy to find the link myself. Here's another and much cheaper lightweight concept worth looking into, could make rifles in calibres less than .50 BMG significantly lighter too.

Looks like they make some very cool things.
Yeh not a huge fan kills the short overall length of a break action plus AR15 parts issues. I can't imagine it's that light either considering the weight of a Bergara ba13 etc. I now compare everything to a Kimber as base level. My 7mm08 kimbers 2.7kgs scoped with full length barrel. But I mostly posted this as a cool kiwi iniative.
Yes, got that, nice FB page. Some really fine precision workmanship there. And you CAN view the page without a FB account.
I don't think weight is the main consideration for the RN-50 but cost. They weigh between 5.8kg (still light for a .50BMG) and 11.34kg depending on barrel option. Main distinctive contribution is the end-cap doing away with lugs, bolts, receiver, etc. and a perfectly symmetrical cartridge support. Kind of a shame they went with the AR 'lower' as any hammer-based mechanism means unneccessary longer lock-time for no real gain. I think it's just because AR15 lowers are commonplace and familiar in the US.

Action, stock, bottom metal Magazine, recoil pad, rail etc all in house outsource barrels but working in developing some lightweight steel barrels in house.
Just down the road from Dpt ;-)
so where are any details about this action on their facebook page...absolutely nothing!, and someone posted say what a great facebook page!
Their website isn't released until later this month. These guys are flatout with projects, give them a bit of time. So far their products look awesome. The whole thing looks very professional
