Hi sorry I've just seen this.
Retracted it sits perfect no rattle at all it's very nice, as to weather I would get another with, the comb is higher than factory and if you had a scope with a 44mm that would sit low enough I probably wouldn't as once it's set you don't adjust it anyway unless changing shooters or scopes.
My son has just brought one for his 85 finlight and it's again very well made i do like the flush mounted rail for the bipod and I would get the flush cups in the side for a sling.

That's great, thanks for the replies. Is anyone else finding the durability issues that gimp mentioned? It sounds more cosmetic, but still not ideal.

I wouldn't call it an issue, it's just marked up easily from 3 days being carried around and shooting a few deer. Very mild cosmetic effects so far

Same here - minor but noticable scratches from a few days in the bush and a few days on the tops (admittedly scrambling up some scree etc too) but very happy with the stock overall - would buy again.

Has anyone found that switching to one of these from a standard Tikka plastic stock impacts the groupings they get from handloads? I am keen on getting a more rigid stock that is a bit more streamlined, but cannot be bothered doing even more testing at the range. My current handload for 7mm mag is very quick and accurate so don't want to mess it up.

That's a risk you take I guess, I'd be suprised if grouping changed enough to be significant if you zero with enough rounds to be statistically significant. More than likely poi will change.
Cost of tweaking your load if needed probably small inconvenience compared to the stock. Having a nice e comfortable stock is a big pro in my books :cool:

I've changed stocks on a few rifles, if it shot well before, highly likely it won't shoot worse in a new good quality stock....that's my experience anyway

When ever I've changed stocks on my Tikka load and group size everchanged
