Went last month to the one in Memphis, and Dallas (or was it cabellas?). Awesome time, was in the Memphis one 4-5 hours. I Remember any handgun or gun you want to hold they are happy for this and even encourage you to do so.
Yeah... the tax thing caught me out aswell until we went to checkout.
We went to the Basspro in Los Angeles and just the taxidermy displays in both the fishing and hunting sections is worth the visit... take your camera!!!
We spent half the day there buying stuff and even had dinner there in the restaurant/bar
Great place... will go again.

Good experience but I found this shop had limited stock of reloading kit.
I did get a few things. But would shop off the internet in future.
Ha ha ha ha I feel the need to google them now.
They also have a here own brands so if your looking for a Something specific you might be hard pushed to find it.
I wanted some K&M reloading kit no go and also when I looked in the clothing line a lot of there own stuff.
But these socks are the business

Bit late I know but a good idea is to hit the returns section. there you will find stuff that "didnt fit" "not as advertised" etc at a real knock down pirce.
The one in Fort Worth would be the size of a H & F shop here ( the returns section )
